Here are the risks to avoid in SEO practices:
1. Flee from Neutral Backlinks
Having understood the relevance of SEO to the success of your business, you’ll probably want to ensure you always avoid adding neutral links that will neither hurt your search engine rankings nor boost the SEO in anyway.
Though neutral backlinks don’t usually subject your website to any kind of severe penalty with Google, they aren’t worth being added to your website. You should rather focus on building high-quality inbound/outbound links which will, of course, impact your TrustRank in particular and Google PageRank in general.
2. The Risk of Moving Content to Trash or Even Deleting the Whole Pages
Though it may not look like a big deal to move some blog content to trash or delete a complete web page that you don’t ever want to keep on your site again, you might want to consider the fact that the important keywords that have been ranked before the deletion occurs will go away automatically.
The best thing you could ever do to always ensure you don’t lose rankings and all of those strategic keywords is rather update such content with fresh information that would otherwise overwrite the previously used information on specific products and services that you want to re-launch.
