The huge upside in online business as opposed to traditional business is that traditional business usually has huge upfront costs associated with starting a business. Here at WA, you have very little overhead. Some like myself got into the profit zone in a number of weeks with a very beginner website and never looked back because of the ultra high ceiling and potential for growth here. Others have taken longer.
The key here is understanding that when we take the right steps, the results will come. The person who got me involved went 9 months without a single sale, but he knew he was creating good content and had something worth sticking with. He stuck with it. He's happy to talk about the $4000 month he had recently and his business continues to grow.
Had he quit even 8 months in he would have never seen the returns and growth and success he's seen. This is a huge lesson in the benefit of having patience.
I'm proud to say that I had my first $4000 in my first year with this business. Because of this incredible training I've been able to qualify twice for an incredible all expense paid trip to the Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas where the leaders meet and discuss making Wealthy Affiliate even better. Trust me when I tell you that this training absolutely delivers.
Like with any business, it's a matter of taking in the training and running with it. The tools to succeed are definitely here, that's for sure. So if you're ready to succeed, have patience with yourself, set your goals, and stick to the training. Don't jump ahead, don't skip steps in haste. Take the time to build a strong foundation for your website, and don't focus on a timeline that isn't realistic.
If you want what most don't, you have to be willing to do what most won't. With a solid learning attitude and the training here at Wealthy Affiliate, you'll find the success you're chasing after.

I work for a spa and started my own business after graduating from Massage school in 2012. I got no clients really my first year, second year I ran Living Social specials just to get my name out there. I called this sweat equity because I made nothing per client. LS made the most of it. Maintained some of them but life got in the way, divorces, lost jobs and moving. So again I was at scratch one. My point, I never gave up, still have my office, still work full time at the spa. Was named Best MT in 2015 in my area. I've got referred clients coming in. My problem is that I work way too much now. But I never gave up.
I hate failure, it pisses me off to the umpteenth level. No matter how frustrated I get or how much crap I talk I will press on. I've given up in the pass because I didn't want to do the work. I know what it takes just didn't want to do it. Now I don't have a choice. I can't continue at the pace I'm at.
Took a break for a few days from here. Got my piss and vinegar back, lets get it done. Working on bringing that traffic I need.
