1) Be Original, avoid copying

Creating unique content is not rocket science, and as such, there is no need for copying other people's work, when you set out to create unique content.

See your competitors as a place to draw inspiration and learn, not a place to copy content. When you present a unique content, it makes it very easy to stand out of the crowd. Always put this at the back of your mind that humans and Search engines appreciate unique content.

Writing articles with friendly content for both human and Search Engines is achievable when your content can :

  • Positively inspire your readers by creatively choosing your words, they should be the right vocabulary targeted at inspiring your readers.
  • Help your readers stay focused, and they will gladly share your content.
  • Illustrate your perspective without losing value: You can share your own story to illustrate your points in words and pictures (images).

2) Select the Right Keyword

In creating SEO- friendly content, choosing the right keywords play a vital role, but you must understand that overloading your content with keywords is not the right way to go. The idea about keywords is sorting out the valuable keyword and rightly placing it in your content. This will help you rank above your competitors.

I remembered Jay (also know as Magistudios), in one of his trainings emphasizing the need to place just one keyword, although your article will eventually rank for multiple keywords as well.

How do you define keyword in content writing?

Let us borrow it from Kyle, a keyword is a phrase that visitors are in search of on search engines like google, yahoo, etc. This can be a 2 or more word phrase. This is actually what you want search engines to see when they crawl to your article.

In choosing a keyword you should:

  1. An easy way out is to wrap your topic inside a few texts, look at the article you are writing and what it has to offer, summarize it in say 5 words, then wrap other text around it
  2. Think of the most suitable keyword, Google and Jaaxy (Keyword tool) are always there to assist you. Assume the position of the searcher on Google, make a list of possible keywords. For example, if I am writing on “chicken coop”, I can draw up a possible suggestion from Google by simply typing in the chicken coop as shown below:

In case you are looking for an idea, Google is a great place to draw up ideas. Let us head on to Jaaxy, I will be writing about “chicken coops accessories”, I think it is good we check the competition and likewise the traffic around this keyword.

Choosing keywords with higher traffic can be tempting, but those with less competition are easier to rank on. Go with keywords with lower QSR (Quoted Search Results). QSR is an indication of the number of websites competing for the same keyword; advisable you go for QSR that is less than 100. Keywords with lower QSR are far easier to rank.

As a beginner, writing content is a real struggle!

Because reading so much research, one will have a hard time deciding what to write, and all the way others are writing are so good already!

One great thing I learnt was to decide the scope of what I want to write, then go read up other websites on it, and then write what I know.

Good, very good.

One thing I always advise is that you must make your writing original. The more you write, the better you become.

One day you will see that it just flows naturally
