While you don't want to spend forever coming up with a niche (after all, you want to get started and get right into the creation of your website), you do need to give it some careful thought and a little bit of analysis.

The best way to start is to get a pen and paper and make a list of your interests, your passions, or anything you feel you know a bit about. Once you have your list rate each entry with a number out of ten for:

  • Interest level
  • Passion on the subject
  • Knowledge of the subject

Scratch the ones that scored the lowest combined total until you are left with 3 possible good ideas.

Nicely done Darren. This should be helpful to many of the newbies to help further break it down and understand what it's all about.
