1. Set up a Blog or Website

To start promoting the Amazon.com products, you’re required to own an active blog, website, YouTube channel, or app. It’ll be an added advantage if that website of yours has already been pre-populated with lots of quality content, so that makes it look like an active site to both Amazon and end users.

Note that you’ll be required to give a short description of your blog or website while going through the registration process. Thus, have a solid idea of the reason you created that site, the technique for generating traffic, and the specific audience of people you’re targeting.

2. Log on to the Amazon Affiliate page

Now, visit the Amazon Associates page and create your own affiliate account.

  • Click the “Join Now for Free” button.
  • You’ll be required create a new Amazon account or simply log in to an existing one.

Thanks for dropping by, Barry! Glad you found it awesome and helpful! Amazon has a great commission plan for its affiliates and the program is accessible to affiliates from all walks of life. It operates on a 24-hour cookie system - meaning that once a customer you refer to Amazon doesn't buy an item within a 24-hour period, you won't earn a commission. Thanks for leaving a thought!

Thanks for the easy to follow training, Israel. I steered clear of Amazon to date, but will perhaps look into it now, Alan

Hey Alan, nice seeing you around! Kudos to you for leaving a thought! Glad you read this training piece and found it helpful! Yes, Amazon is worth trying for its revenue potential. Though, like eBay, it operates a 24-cookie system, if a referral does or doesn't buy the item you linked him to from your blog, YouTube channel, or website, but he eventually buys 15 other products before the 24-hour period expires, you'll earn commissions on all of the 15 other products he purchased. Thanks for leaving a thought, my friend!

Hey Emielia, thanks for dropping by and kudos to you for reading this training piece! Glad you found it helpful! While there are hundreds of thousands of awesome affiliate programs in the industry, Amazon has some unique feature in the sense that you can still earn commissions for sending visitors to shop at Amazon stores even on other products aside from the one through which you sent them to Amazon. You'll earn commissions on all of the products that they buy at stores other than the one you linked them to. Thanks for leaving a thought! See you succeed soonest!
