So ...

Upon activation, you'll have to got to Tools => Better Search Replace in order to perform Search & Replace actions:


In the first two fields you can enter the text string you want to search for, and the replace text.

Next, you'll have to select the table(s) you want to look into. For example, if you want to search and replace some text in your posts then you'll have to select the posts table :


If you want, you can select multiple tables with Ctrl-Click for Windows or Cmd-Click for Mac.

Finally, there are two options that will allow you to ...

  • run case-sensitive or case-insensitive searches
  • perform a dry run to see how many cells are affected by your search (without actually replacing the targeted text)

And that's it ... When you are happy with your choices, simply click the "Run Search/Replace" button, and the plugin will perform the dry run or the search and replace action according to your settings.

As you can see, it's simple, it's efficient and it's extremely helpful ...

Hi Zed and thanks for another excellent and useful training. We have a question. Our WordPress editor does not show that menu bar containing "File", "Edit", "View", etc. (see the copy below). How do we make that appear?
