I have just zoomed in on one section of the table so you can take a closer look at the Pages visited from, the number of Page Views and the Average Time on Page

An advanced feature of this page is the time spent on each page. (Next column right of these three is shown below.) Note that you can change the date range in the bottom right corner.

Note the two times for the same page. One is a PC (desktop) page and the other is mobile. People stay on the mobile one much longer. So why?

The second one appears much better. However appearances can be deceptive.

The difference between the two is that the desktop version has a opt-in pop-up. (If the mobile has one it doesn’t show up.) Note pop-ups are created by you /me.

What seemed to be happening is that people read the desktop version for 45 seconds and then signed up for your eMail list. Then they get to your Thank You page. Therefore most don’t stay as long but the result is very good as many are opting in. They get information per Jay’s eMails.

The mobile readers just kept reading.

So what if a pop-up appeared on the mobile version? The prediction is the time on page would drop as visitors would opt-in just as per the desktop version.

It is a good thing to do a check here. Pretend you have no pop-up. Go to your website and read, timing 45 seconds. At that point have a good look at content and presentation at that point. Find out why people are leaving at this time.

It might be a distraction such as an internal link taking people away. And they don’t come back.

When you finish here go back to home page to access other features. At this point don’t worry about viewing these.

My husband is an absolute fiend on the subject of natural building, mostly earthbags. We lived in an earthbag house he built in Colorado.

Terry, my folks lived in Gwithian Towans while dad went to Camborne school of mines. I while ago I had to do some research on this and to my surprise found a memory from a fellow who had also lived there. Two of his friends were mum and dad! Wow that was a feeling of amazement as now both have died.

Thanks for your comment.

And I did try to go back and visit but unfortunately chose a holiday weekend and the road to Cornwall was packed. So I went to Wales instead. Dad was born there.

I am an import to the south west, originally from the West Midlands. I live in Plymouth - not quite Cornwall but spend a lot of time in Perranporth.
The A30 and A38 are always packed for 9 months of the year but we battle through.
Keep the tutorials and blogs coming, they are greatly appreciated.

13 PAGES. You are way out in front of all the others with the size of your lessons.
Well done.
Tom.
