Now we are ready to put in our user friendly descriptions as you'll see in the picture below;

I did this one quickly for this tutorial. But with every picture you upload, the better your description the more chances you have of being recognised as an authority. Remember, there are still many people who are not doing this so you will do your website the greatest good by doing this yourself.

As MarkBa has asked the question in the comments below. Depending on your WordPress theme depends on whether the information shows, so as an extra guarantee check your post to see if the information you have added in the media library is in your post picture. Otherwise you will have to update each post.

Plus, visually impaired people are customers too.

Now to see this in action...

As usual really helpful. I'm just adding pictures to my first few content pages!

Excellent, Evangeline, I still love your profile picture, in a permanent stat of panic, lol ! Although you were probably having a ball at the time.

Thanks, Therese, yes you can go back and update all your pictures, just don't change the URL.

Ok.
URL and file name are two different things on images?

When you go to your media gallery and click on an image at the very top you will see the URL of the picture, that is what you don't change but everything else you can, Therese.

A lot of newbies do not add any data to their pics, missed chance for them to be found by Google images

You are absolutely right, Loes, this is an area where doing it will improve their rankings where posts can fail, the same as tags in a post can do wonders.
