Keyword; a relevant word or phrase that has been defined by the website developer to describe the essential content of a given web page. Is used by search engines to locate and categorize webpages that match a given search query.

Landing page (or lead capture page); a single webpage displayed as a first touch-point when a potential customer has been approached with a marketing campaign as a result of a search result or an online advertisement. The landing page is used to display additional engaging marketing copy in order to generate a desired action (conversion).
Lead; a person who is supposed to be interested in purchasing the products or services offered by a given merchant. In affiliate marketing is also used to describe a certain qualified action (e. g. subscription).
Like-baiting; the practice of explicitly requesting likes, shares or comments in order to increase the engagement.
LinkedIn endorsement; the recognition of another person’s skill that can be used for your first-degree connections.
LinkedIn recommendation; a written recommendation or compliment provided by one of your connections. It can be displayed on your profile to impress or influence other connections, potential customers, etc.

Meerkat; a live-streaming video application connected to Twitter that allows users to broadcast live video from their smartphone.

Niche; a specific topic category or segment. If you are promoting diabetic products, you are in the health niche.

Owned media; any kind of – usually branded – web presence, property or communication channel owned and controlled by you; e. g. website, blog, email list, social media channel, etc.

Paid media; any kind of external marketing effort involving paid advertisement methods; e. g. display ads, PPC advertising, social media ads, paid influencers, etc.
Pinboard; a thematic, organized – public or private – collection of pins on Pinterest.
Pinned tweet; an important message pinned by you to the top of your Twitter profile.
Point of difference (or POD); the unique angle – product, service, advantage, approach, etc – that will make your website to stand out from the crowd.
Promoted account; Twitter business feature that invites targeted users to follow a given (promoted) account .
Promoted tweet; native Twitter advertisement purchased and used to reach a specific audience or a wider group of users.

Raw clicks; the total number of overall clicks occurred on a given affiliate link.
Recurring commission; a way to earn repeated periodic commissions after iterative payments made by the same customer (e g. monthly services).
Redirect; a simple instruction included in a link or the source of a webpage in order to automatically send the visitor to a different another page.
Regram; the act of re-posting an image or video that belongs to another Instagram user.
Re-pinning (or repin); the act of saving a pin – found on another user’s pinboard – to one of your existing or newly created pinboards.
Residual earnings; you’ll receive so-called “lifetime commissions” being paid for every single new purchase made by a customer referred by you.
Responsive web design (or RWD); web development method used to provide dynamic changes to the appearance of a web page depending on the orientation and the screen size of the displaying device. Its main goal is to deliver an optimal viewer experience across multiple devices.
Return on advertising spending (or ROAS); metric used to calculate the profit percentage obtained as a result of a given advertising campaign; with $100 spent and a $250 revenue your ROAS is 250%, meaning a 150% profit.
Return on investment (or ROI); percentage metric used to measure the profitability rate of a given campaign. In order to calculate it the net profit is divided with the campaign cost; with $100 spent and a $300 revenue you’ll have a 200% ROI.
Return on relationship (or ROR); a measurement of the value gained by an individual or an entity from developing a relationship; is a complementary metric to social media ROI.
Retweet; re-publishing a message (tweet) written and posted by another user.
Rich pin; a Pinterest pin which contains additional information. There are four types of rich pins: app, product, recipe and article.
