Step by step guide to staggering comments
Let's assume you have requested some comments and have a whole pile of wonderful comments in the Site Comments area. You don't want to put them on your site all at once and would rather stagger them to appear over the next week.
Here's how to do it:
- In Site Comments, look at the comment and edit it if you wish. It's slightly easier to edit it here than in Wordpress.
- You can reply here, too, but if you don't want to publish the comment immediately, you can leave the reply until later.
- Approve it. This publishes it to your site along with your reply if you wrote one.
- Immediately go to your WP Dashboard and in the panel on the left click on Comments. The new comment will probably be at the top.
- Below the comment, click on Unapprove. This will remove the comment from your live site but it will still be there in the Comments section. If you replied in Site Comments, your reply will be here, too, and you will have to Unapproved that as well.

Hi Rob & Michelle - it seems obvious but when I got to that part of the training it took me a little while to get my head around. Throw in the requirements for writing a good comment and, while it's still not rocket scienve :-), you do have to know what you're doing :-)

LOL...I know all about 'postponing things' and 'perfection'...so I am happy that you got it done. I will let you know once I get around (postponing...lol) doing it...maybe later this week.

I just 'bit the bullet' and took a few minutes out of my schedule to test it..yes, it was the old system. With the new site comments, you do not get the option to 'stagger comments'...so thnx for your tips.
