Don't Play Your Video Automatically

Don’t set up your webpage so that a video starts playing automatically. Let users start it themselves. This is one of my peeves so I am sure it is the same for other people. During the day, I am often busy with family obligations during the day and sometimes, the only time I can get things done is at night after everyone settles down for the night. Therefore, it needs to be quiet. So the last thing I need is a loud video automatically starting when I load a website. Think about your users and their needs and various situations. Allow them the choice if they wish to play your video or not.
