Search Option 1: The Singles Scene
Okay, now that you have a list of curated topics and their respective magazine owners on your screen, you can identify the owners by hovering over the ones (usernames) that appear interesting to you as such:
This gives you an idea of that single owner and what topic he's most interested in. What you want to look for, of course, is someone that's interested in the same niche you are OR something very related. They are much likely to curate content from YOUR website.
YES, they will curate content from YOUR website.
Okay, before I show you how to "suggest" this to them, here's another method for finding backlink prospects.....
Search Option 2: The User List
After you click on the search magnifying glass Or type in your keyword and click Enter and the list of topics is presented. You'll also notice this at the top of the screen:
Yep, that's the user list on the tab I circled (in red, I think - dunno, I'm colorblind - sigh!).
So, let's click on that bad boy and see what's up there!
Aha, check this out now:
Okay, now let me show you how to identify the big dawg users that you wanna target for the best chance of getting your content curated on their Scoop. It! web magazine.
Okay, when you scope these profile panels a bit closer, you'll notice the descriptions below the profile images. For example:
So, he named his one curated magazine Seocanto.
Here's another:
I do believe Rocky's last name is Seo and not SEO, judging by the description of Auto Wreckers and 1 other. Just going out on a limb here. :-)
BUT...., check this one out:
Okay, again, I think this person's last name is Seo and he isn't into Search Engine Optimization. BUT, he has three topics he's interested in: Real Estate, Health, Shopping and Entertainment. That might work for your niche, but not so much for SEO.
Finally, let's review one more.....
Ahhhh, now we're talking. An SEO company! They are into PPC and FOUR more topics. This indicates to me that they are likely heavy into it and a good candidate for one of my SEO related articles. So, I'll pitch them a "suggestion" for a link and some curated content from my site!
Search Option 3: Topics
This final option seems to be working out best for me. Returning to the top of your screen, you'll see another tab - Topics:
Now, instead of profiles, you'll see topics of interest that are related to your niche. (SEO in this example.) But, you'll also notice the cute little award ribbons tacked in the upper right of each one. These apparently received a LOT of views from other Scoop. It! members AND external viewers from search engines!
So, if I hove over one of these, I can gain a wee bit more information:
WOW! 92,800+ views!!! That's not too shabby!
So, he's rockin' it with that post and his Scoop. It! page is getting wicked amounts of traffic.
Let's move on and see what we can do with this new information!
