Hello everyone and welcome to Shawn's Tutorials!

So many people have been asking me what the Meta box is when they create their first website and does it need to be on the site.

First let us address what it is. It is a box where you can access all of the above labeled places for your WordPress site.

Second, does it need to be on your site?
Have you ever seen this box on any other sites when surfing the web?
I bet I know your answer!

You do not need this box on your live website and I recommend you remove it. All the functions can be found and accessed through either bookmarking each function on your browser or through the dashboard of your website.

You can find the admin or sign in page on the WA build websites tab.

I personally bookmark these functions myself, but the choice is yours.

Now, on to how to remove it.

First off, There are different versions of themes out there for WordPress, and this will cover the most common style

As John pointed out below in the comments, some themes only require you to open the Meta box and delete it.

Others make it a bit more challenging.

If this method does not work you may have the other style, see the notes at the end of this training on how to remove it.

For one of my sites, I haven't done them all, I just clicked on widget and then delete on the right col meta file and that did it. John

It definetely gives a more professional look to the website, and I really like them to be as clean as posible, since the meta box doesn't have utility for customers it's highly recommended to remove it.
Thank you for this tutorial.
