Get your Readability to signal Green

Point 1. 2 of the subheadings are followed by more than the recommended maximum of 300 words. Try to insert additional subheadings.

I must confess that I had not realised that I had large blocks of content without subheadings. You might not have realised that you had done the same.

So I looked through my content and added sub-headings - a fairly simple thing to do.

Point 2 The text contains 3 consecutive sentences starting with the same word. Try to mix things up!

I had not noticed that either, but when I looked, it did not look good.

But once again, easy to remedy!

Point 3 29.8% of the sentences contain more than 20 words, which is more than the recommended maximum of 25%. Try to shorten the sentences.

This was signalled Amber, as it is only slightly above the recommended average, but for my purposed here, I did shorten one or two sentences.

Point 4 13.2% of the sentences contain passive voice, which is more than the recommended maximum of 10%. Try to use their active counterparts.

Once again, not too serious.

When I looked through my content, I could not see anything I really wanted to change which would not change my original meaning. But again, I changed one or two in order to get a green rating.

If you are not too sure what either of those two points are referring to, the clickable links will give you examples.

I have been using Yoast for some time. It just gives reminders for many things we may otherwise skip over. I like it.

I've have a red light on #2 on the list, on one or more of my post's. However, it's false. I have no consecutive sentences starting with the same word. I checked, double checked, and triple checked. No such issue. I take it with a grain of salt.

I noticed that one of my bullied lists started with the same word, and on reflection I thought it probably looked better if I varied it :)
