Quality content is king (or queen). It is very important that you understand this right from the get go, you are going to have much more success with your website, much higher rankings in Google and other search engines, and you will build a lot better brand and a lot more trust with your readers.

In this video I am going to walk you through the importance of quality content and I am going to show you how to create your initial two pages on your website, your About Me and your Privacy Policy.

Here are the examples of these pages that I created within this tutorial:

About Me: http://howtolosebellyfattoday.com/about-me

Privacy Policy: http://howtolosebellyfattoday.com/privacy-policy

If you can master the idea of quality content, you will be very successful online. This means in terms of your readership, your SEO activities, and the revenue you are able to generate through your website.

Also, remember that you SHOULD NOT promote anything at this point. Your initial focus should be creating your initial content base (which will lead to rankings and traffic). Once you have rankings and traffic, that is when you can generate revenue through your site. Try to avoid putting the cart (promotions) before the horse (traffic).

Here is the example privacy policy:

Great video about creating the About Me and Privacy. Only suggestion I would make is to see if your browser has Find and Replace feature (look under the edit part of the menu for the browser). It would make switching http://YOURWEBSITE.com to my website's name quite a bit faster and ensure that I don't accidentally miss one (how tacky would that be??). Find & Replace gets it done in one step.

If the browser doesn't offer it, I would copy and paste into a word processor, use Find & Replace, then copy and paste it into my Wordpress page editor.

Thanks Kyle for the lesson! As Kyle reviewed over the Privacy Policy section he mentioned how you don't want Google to index this page because it's a duplicate. However, I was only able to get the following 2 checked off: Robots Meta NOINDEX & Robots Meta NOFOLLOW. The other two: Robots Meta NOOOP & Robots Meta NOYDIR didn't appear on the page. Anyone else in this situation?

I pasted a copy of the Privacy Policy into my page but I didn't want to put in my personal email address. Are we going to learn how to get a business email address or should we be looking elsewhere? When I bought my domain name I had to use my personal email because I had no other one to use.
Reply
SteveCrozza Premium
Yes you will learn that, it will be in the lessons or you could look it up in the search bar. Using your personal email address for domain name is not an issue. You might want to pay for a service which will hide your personal details, most domain sellers have them. (can't remember these names - getting a bit late here.

Or you could create another email account in gmail or some other common email service provider.

good luck

You never want to expose you email address, so use a contact plugin - then create a contact page, now anytime people need to contact you they do it through the contact page - keeping your email address safe from being spammed.

There are plenty of free and paid contact form plugins - if you do a search either in Google or here you'll find recommendations

Is there any way I can speed up the videos? They are long and repetitive. Also, can someone tell me if I'm wasting my time here? I am not a writer or an English major so writing content on my website is really out of my league. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Are others feeling the same way?
Reply

I also would like to know if there is a way to speed up the videos. I would love to go back and watch all the Live Video Classes, but I find them much too long and slow paced.

As for your questions about wasting time, it depends on what you're expecting to get out of this venture. I wouldn't really worry about not being a writer or an English major. For my website I pretty much just type the way I think, and I've attracted a lot of people. What's more important than the way you write, is that you write about topics that people are interested in.

Best of luck with you endeavors.

Hi Arlene,

I totally agree with Jason. You don't actually need to be a writer to create content for your site. English is my second language and this doesn't stop from running my business and making money. Whatever you do online you need to create content because it's the content that leads to traffic and sales accordingly. You are definitely not wasting your time here and believe me if you continue to learn and take action you will start seeing results. Let me know what you think and I will probably give you some other recommendations.

Hi people!

I'm at lesson 9 of course 1. I've followed all the steps described by Kyle in his video to the letter and created the 3 initial pages (About Me, Privacy Policy and About my Niche). I've also published them all, but when I go and click on "visit site" there is no menu on my Home Page with the 3 categories I've created. I have refreshed it too, but still nothing.

Let's add that I'm using Ruffie theme...

Can anyone tell me why my 3 categories don't appear on a menu bar?

Thank you so much.

The add media button, as far as my experience has shown, does not enable downloading from social media. My suggestion is that you email you Facebook image to yourself and save it to your computer or that you choose another image that is on your computer.

when you select the text in the policy (it turns blue), you go to your page in the editor mode, right click at the top of the page where u want the text to be and select "Paste". It will then put the copied text into your page. Then either click "save draft" or "publish" on the right. Hope this helps :)

Hi Michelle,

When you upload an image that is large in size, by default it will show that large image.
You need to tell your page to reduce the image size. This can be done via a small drop down. I've attached an image for your reference.

Hello Everyone,

Kyle mentioned in the video above regarding creating the first content page - besides About -, in his example the first content page was titled "How to lose belly fat today"...

He mentioned it and showed under all pages but he never went back to it...

My question is:

Does that first piece of content – closely related to my niche – has to be a page or can be a post?

Thank you,

Hi Yanxell,

I ended up putting 3 photos with captions in at the top because they fit okay. I believe the photos and captions will draw people in to actually read my About page.

I appreciate your suggestions to play with it. I'm a senior citizen and am sometimes afraid to try things because I might lose something or have it take me down a rabbit hole I can't get out of. It's a common trait for us Seniors to be apprehensive using computers, yet sometimes I realize I don't give myself enough credit.

You don't have to be afraid about experimenting with your content everything is backed up you are never going to lose anything. To the right of where you are editing there is like a clock logo that says revisions, click browse and you can restore to your previous page in case you delete something or messed up.

I cancel my premium account and leave for a couple of months when I get back I couldn't find my website. So I go to the suport tab within site rubix and send a message to the technicians. They answer really fast and restore my site with a backup from before I leave. Nothing was lost. So I hope this make that worry go away, feel free to experiment.

I am no expert but glad I could help!

The Videos that are provided in this training guide are amazing and very helpfull. With each lesson I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to accessing the market I am looking for.
I am going to purchase the premium plan. I purchased a Paypal prepaid debit card just for my websites to get me headed in the right direction and now I'm just waiting for them to verify my Identity before I can purchase online with this card. The next step with that sign up for a paypal account and link it to my card.

I am in the process of creating my about me page and am finding it very easy because of Kyles way of putting it in to plain english and explaining every process.

Thank you.

Instead of "About Me" could I do it from a company perspective? The name of my website is All Motorcycles, so could I do "About All Motorcycles" I am also thinking about changing the name of the website to include something like "all motorbikes for women" or something like that. By the time I did the lesson on keywords and started playing around with what I wanted to focus on, I had already set up the domain and website name. Is this going to be an issue if the name of the website is not exactly the same as the domain name?
Reply
The-Fran Premium
Hi, Linda!
Your site name could even be simply, "Motorcycles for Women", without the "All", and importantly without changing your domain name. Some match site name to domain name, some tweak the site name.

The Answer to your first question regarding the About page perspective is YES. Just keep your perspective consistent across the site.

In other words, if you will be approaching articles from the perspective of several authors, or from the perspective of a company viewpoint (sales and/or service), then by all means, make the about page from a site or company perspective, whichever fits.

But if the site will take on a very personal approach, like what you might imagine of a typical blogger's website; then it may make more sense to have the about page about you, your experience with bikes, your passion for bikes, etc., focusing on credibility and personal story—just as Kyle's own example About Me page does.

If you go with the company or site perspective on your About page, and if you are the primary or sole author, then consider having a separate page, "About Linda", to which you can link from a custom author's byline in your articles, for example. This would provide curious readers with a little background on their favorite author and guide through the site—you. You could delete this page from all menus, so that the primary way to navigate to it would be through the custom bylines. If you have several authors on the company site, then you could do the same for each, and add an "authors" category or tag to these about-{author} pages.

Just some ideas to bounce around,
:)

Hello Llpher you sure have experience my dear, patiently look within yourself as it relates to your niche/ website. How have you been able to provide solutions to the questions that arise in the past or in recent times, again I say relating to your niche/ website. It may be very small but it did answer a problem or question that to me is an experience, then build up from there. If you are currently enrolled onto or about to be enrolled to any course that would enable you become an expert in your chosen area of interest that could be added also. Wherever you are right now start as time goes on you will build up and you could rewrite your About me page again I believe. Hope this helps.
