Quality content is king (or queen). It is very important that you understand this right from the get go, you are going to have much more success with your website, much higher rankings in Google and other search engines, and you will build a lot better brand and a lot more trust with your readers.

In this video I am going to walk you through the importance of quality content and I am going to show you how to create your initial two pages on your website, your About Me and your Privacy Policy.

Here are the examples of these pages that I created within this tutorial:

About Me: http://howtolosebellyfattoday.com/about-me

Privacy Policy: http://howtolosebellyfattoday.com/privacy-policy

If you can master the idea of quality content, you will be very successful online. This means in terms of your readership, your SEO activities, and the revenue you are able to generate through your website.

Also, remember that you SHOULD NOT promote anything at this point. Your initial focus should be creating your initial content base (which will lead to rankings and traffic). Once you have rankings and traffic, that is when you can generate revenue through your site. Try to avoid putting the cart (promotions) before the horse (traffic).

Here is the example privacy policy:

Instead of "About Me" could I do it from a company perspective? The name of my website is All Motorcycles, so could I do "About All Motorcycles" I am also thinking about changing the name of the website to include something like "all motorbikes for women" or something like that. By the time I did the lesson on keywords and started playing around with what I wanted to focus on, I had already set up the domain and website name. Is this going to be an issue if the name of the website is not exactly the same as the domain name?

Hi, Linda!
Your site name could even be simply, "Motorcycles for Women", without the "All", and importantly without changing your domain name. Some match site name to domain name, some tweak the site name.

The Answer to your first question regarding the About page perspective is YES. Just keep your perspective consistent across the site.

In other words, if you will be approaching articles from the perspective of several authors, or from the perspective of a company viewpoint (sales and/or service), then by all means, make the about page from a site or company perspective, whichever fits.

But if the site will take on a very personal approach, like what you might imagine of a typical blogger's website; then it may make more sense to have the about page about you, your experience with bikes, your passion for bikes, etc., focusing on credibility and personal story—just as Kyle's own example About Me page does.

If you go with the company or site perspective on your About page, and if you are the primary or sole author, then consider having a separate page, "About Linda", to which you can link from a custom author's byline in your articles, for example. This would provide curious readers with a little background on their favorite author and guide through the site—you. You could delete this page from all menus, so that the primary way to navigate to it would be through the custom bylines. If you have several authors on the company site, then you could do the same for each, and add an "authors" category or tag to these about-{author} pages.

Just some ideas to bounce around,
:)

Thank you for your feedback. I have just registered a domain all motorbikes for women with the same website name. It's my very first website and still in very early stages. Hopefully I can get it running well very soon

Good for you, Linda, and all the best to you with your site.

My thoughts above still apply and I hope that they help resolve your questions on site titles and about pages, going forward. :)

Congratulations, again on your domain, and on your decision to partner with WA for education and hosting. We have a great and responsive community, here.

HI everyone and Kyle,
I'm trying to finish setting up my web site with theme "Super News" and I did the steps to get the three pages;
About Me
Private Policy
and the name of my web site
I updated everything but I don't see the three in the main page of my web?

Once you’ve published your pages, you have to add them to your menu. Here’s how. I believe Kyle covers this somewhere in course 2.

No I mean they are not showing up after setup.

Hey Kyle,
I have added my "about me" page and privacy policy etc..
I changed my theme to see what another one would look like, then changed it back, and now I can't see my pages listed at the top of my site.
When I am in the editor area, and I press "preview" it does however show that everything is there with all the information that I have entered.

Please help!

Go to Appearance – Menus. Look under the Menu Settings at the bottom right. Make sure you tick Primary Menu.

If still nothing, you may want to check this area as well. Go to Appearance – Menus – Manage Locations. Below Assigned Menu, select primary/main menu and click Save Changes.

The start of any new journey in our life can seem long at first glance. But we must take the first steps to get to the next chapter and arrive at the goals we envisioned for our business. So remember take action and keep your eyes on the road to your success and everything else will fall into place.

Hello Llpher you sure have experience my dear, patiently look within yourself as it relates to your niche/ website. How have you been able to provide solutions to the questions that arise in the past or in recent times, again I say relating to your niche/ website. It may be very small but it did answer a problem or question that to me is an experience, then build up from there. If you are currently enrolled onto or about to be enrolled to any course that would enable you become an expert in your chosen area of interest that could be added also. Wherever you are right now start as time goes on you will build up and you could rewrite your About me page again I believe. Hope this helps.
