Now that you've found a plugin you'd like to add to your site, you will need to download it. Do this by going into your site's dashboard, click on "Plugins" and then "Add New".

This page will appear, and then you key in the plugin's name in the search box toward the top on the right.

Press "Enter", and you will likely see several options available to choose from, like this:

This next step is very important! Do you see, in the above image, the arrow is pointing at what you should consider as a RED FLAG. "Untested with your version of WordPress" means just that ... they cannot assure you that installing this plugin will not cause problems for you with your site.

When I was just getting started, twice I got locked out of my site's admin, right after installing a plugin that was not listed as "Compatible with your version of WordPress". So proceed with caution, definitely back up your site before installing it, or, better yet, scroll down thru the available plugins on this function and find one that is compatible, like this:

This is one that you would feel comfortable in downloading. Next step, you click on "Install now"

Your computer will make sure you really want to do this ...

If you are sure, click on "OK". After a few seconds, the download and installation will be complete, then all you have to do is click on "activate".

There is one more small step to fully activate your plugin, and it goes hand in hand with adjusting the plugin's settings, so we will get into that on the next page.
