Create Your Twitter Profile

You need to create a great profile for your Twitter account. Without any kind of information linking you to your industry of choice, you should not expect people to generate much interest in you or your content. Take note of the following:

  • Have a profile image. Having an image of you on your profile is better than using a logo for your profile. People tend to ignore profiles with logos, but they develop curiosity to know more when it is a profile picture that is used
  • You can let the photo on your profile speak what you do. Pictures can say a lot, even more than physical descriptions. You can use pictures to describe your brand and get the audience to pick interest in them
  • Give a short but interesting biography. It should be short and simple, going to the basics of what people need to know about you and how it relates to your product
  • Add a URL that will take your audience to your blog or your other social media pages where they can learn more about you and your product or brand
  • Have a tweet to your profile. Use important keywords as you tweet on your profile. If it is catchy, a lot of people will take note of it and will not like to miss your tweets. Many will click on your blog to get more insight. If they are boring tweets most people will only pass by without a second glance at them. As people show interests in your tweets, you can convert the impressions into clicks and shares. That way, you will know by how much the people love your tweets
  • Add more visual images to your tweets as many people usually have a more lasting impression about what they see. So, it is easy-to-use images to get the attention of people. Venngage can help you create images that will hold the attention of users to your tweets. People tend to re-tweet with images than re-tweeting without images
  • At the end of your tweets, always make sure that you call out to the audience to take a specific action such as re-tweeting, liking or commenting
  • Post your tweets at the appropriate time. It is important to post your tweets at the correct time so your audience will be able to see them.
  • You should encourage people on your blog to tweet and share your content. You can schedule interesting quotes as your tweets and encourage your users to retweet them.
  • Use smart tools for your tweets. There are several smart tools that you can use for your tweets including Just Retweet, CoSchedule, Buffer and many other tools that can make tweeting for traffic interesting and help you increase traffic to your site.

Thanks for leaving a thought, Jenny! I understand that many bloggers don't use Twitter and some use it but not the right way. Meanwhile, Twitter is a great traffic generation social media platform if deployed the right way. Thanks again, my friend!
