Dogpile - A Metasearch Engine

Now that you have an idea of what a metasearch engine is let's take a look at one known as Dogpile. I am not sure who thought of the name or if there is a meaning behind it but I am certain I'll never forget it.

Being that I finally figured out how to get screen captures straight on my daughters laptop (a Chromebook) I have another one for your here for Dogpile titled Metasearch 101. Let's take a look:

Though this is somewhat dated in terms of technology and websites and such it is interesting.

You can see in the left sidebar on the image above that there are similar selections as in Google, Bing or Yahoo.

You can use Dogpile to search the same way you would search with any other search engine however the results, as we learned, are culminated from other search engines.

If the print on the image is too small or distorted you can find the Dogpile Metasearch 101 page at this link: http://www.dogpile.com/support/metasearch

Let's move on to the next page to see metasearch engine in action.
