Manage Your Time

The hours of the day fly by. Once they are gone you cannot get them back.

Plan to capture as much time as possible each day to work on your business.
  • During the next week write a time diary.
  • Analyze where you spend each 15 minutes of the day.
  • Decide how much time you have daily to work on your websites.
  • Make a list of things that you can eliminate from your daily routines. Such as watching TV.

Organize your internet marketing task list by how long each action takes.

Five Minute Projects:

  • Read a blog.
  • Post a comment.
  • Tweet or post to Facebook.

Fifteen Minute Projects:

  • Outline an article or blog post
  • Research your niche
  • Search for keywords

One Hour or More Projects:

  • Write content.
  • Set up a website.
  • Watch a tutorial.

Schedule Your Tasks Throughout the Day

Writing content for your IM business is your #1 priority. Determine when you will be most productive during the day to schedule your one hour tasks.

Waking up an hour early every morning will give you time to finish your one hour projects.

Waking up early works well for me. My mind is clear, alert and I can devote uninterrupted time to my business. It creates a good feeling knowing that I was able to put some time into my own business before I start my day job.

Some people are night owls and like to write at the end of the day.

Schedule tasks like social bookmarking, reading blogs, research and other website maintenance as #2 priorities.

Schedule a few minutes during your lunch hour or after work to complete your five - fifteen minute projects.

Use a timer when working on your tasks. You do not want to waste 2 hours commenting on facebook when you should be writing content. Your time is very limited when you work a full time job so it is important to know what to do and how long to spend on each task.

Great coverage of To Do's. It's hard when working other jobs, but truly believe it's in my interest until I have that income generating from online business.

Yes. It is best to keep your day job until your online business is making enough income to cover expenses.

Nice post, Yessharon. Some people simply cannot prioritize their time. That would make it very, very hard to get through the day.
