Internal links within your site.

  • STEP 1. Decide what you want to link from. In my example it is ‘red hot steampunk’. Then high light those words. I am going to link that back to my Steampunk Page.
  • STEP 2. Click on the ‘Chain’.

Figure: Step 1 and 2

  • STEP 3. When you click on the chain you get the following linking box. Click on the ‘gear to get ‘link options’. Do NOT enter an URL or do a search.

Figure: Step 3

  • STEP 4. Clicking on ‘Link options opens the insert/edit link options. Select the page or post. Note there is no URL showing until you click on the page or post and it loads automatically. Click on ‘Add link’.

Figure Step 4

  • STEP 5.Now when you click on that link you now get shown the filled in URL. (Refer the image in Step 3. No URL is shown at that time.)

You too jewel. Now back to wrestling with other things.

Do you know how to get technical support other than website? I am having trouble with JavaScript, cookies and dns. I expect it might be all related. As you might imagine this is very frustrating.

To start with I generally work in Chrome but often use Edge, Chrome and Firefox when working. I have checked all these search engines and my JavaScript and Cookies are enabled.

1. When I comment on a site via the notifications requesting comments or profile sites of people I follow and try to post the comment I get the attached message. At least one person that tried to comment on mine got the same message.

When I comment through the Comment Box in the Siterubix area the comment is accepted but doesn’t show up on the relevant site/s.

2. When I follow Amazons linking advice I get the attached message.

Jewel, I did put a question in a while ago but got no answers. I am doing the rounds at the moment. Nathaniell told me to flush my dns so I did. Just going in to check it out.

It turned out it was all caused by Carson's fooling around fixing the spamming problem!

Thank you very much for sharing. I have used WP in my previous experience, but I can say your friend is right: if you have never used before, you miss part of the training.
I always want my links to open in a new tab, but I have discovered that when I update my WP, I lose this option! Do you know why? Thanks! Ciao!

Laura, no I don't know why. Try asking the community. Generally you want your internal links NOT to open in a new tab as that isn't a problem. When you go outside your site to someone else's site eg Amazon you want it to be in a new tab so your visitors return to your site when they leave the external site.
