OK so far we have learned how to identify pages that could get more clicks by tweaking the SEO as well as make those changes in our WordPress dashboard. Now the last step is to ask Google to crawl your site so it can see the changes.

Head back to Search Console and go to the "fetch as google" page.

Now leave the URL blank so Google crawls your homepage and click "fetch and render"

When it is finished a button will pop up next to the result that says "request indexing"

Click on that and then click on the option to crawl the URL and it's direct links, this will have Google crawl your entire site if you decide to update multiple pages while you are doing this.

Now sit back and wait! You want to give this about 30 days before you judge the results.

It's also known as Google Webmaster Tools, the 2nd lesson of the 5th course of the training goes over how to set it up for your sites.

Great info. The frustration I have is that sometimes Google seems to override my meta description, and choose their own snippets from my site. If anyone knows how to prevent this I would love to know.
