At Wealthy Affiliate, we generally get to grips very easily with our BIG reason (or our big WHY) for being here whether it be to create financial freedom for our family or if it's to be able to leave our day job, getting out of the rat race and have more time for travel or our family.
Our destination is definitely important because it acts as a motivator and gives us something to aim for... and we need to also remember that the journey along the way is just as important, if not more so!
However, if we focus solely on the end goal and ignore those things that are most important to us while we work all the hours we have on our website, when we finally have time for our family, we might find that they no longer need us or we might have enough time and money to travel, but our health might not be so good.
We need to find a way to build what we want AND enjoy and appreciate the life we have RIGHT NOW!
Things like family time, play, our health... it may sound counter-intuitive to schedule something like "play" for example, but the way to make sure that it happens is to scheduie it in! By scheduling things like family time and fun into your diary then you tend to be more present at whatever you are doing at any given time.
Nowadays, because I know that this alloted time is "family time" with my daughter, I concentrate totally on being with her during that time. When I have work time, I concentrate on that and can do both without guilt, because it's planned in my diary for a specific purpose.
Of course, there are times when I have to move things around, but that means I am doing so with an awareness of what I am changing around. If things need changing around too much regularly, then it's a sign that I need to look at my schedule again and see if it's working! It also helps me to keep a balanced life rather than spending all my time in one area.
During this training, we will look at the process of deciding the areas of life that are important for you to spend your time, what you are currently doing and where you want to spend your time.
