So now you're writing about your passion. You've found your keyword, and now you're going to bash out a few articles. Stop and think for a while.
Out of the articles that you have read over the space of your life which one's have you enjoyed the most? For me, it's been the articles that have made me feel like I have a strong connection to what's being said.
Say for instance I was trying to sell an application that keeps spelling and grammar in check whenever a user is to write on the web.
What would sound better?
"Grammarly is a really good application. Not only does it check spelling but it keeps that Grammar in check. It also has options to upgrade if you are interested in doing that. It's recommended by millions of users. My friend uses Grammarly and she absolutely sings its praises. One of the better writing apps if I'm honest"
Or
"I had been getting tired of the long hours spent correcting my sloppy work. I often write too fast and I am prone to more than the odd typo. It seemed strange that I would click on a Spellchecker. I was always top of the class at my spelling and grammar. I was feeling weird about now. Yet something needed to change to reduce my workload or I was going to go insane.
Grammarly literally changed my life. Not only did it do x, y and z, but it helped with a,b and c." And so on.
Did you see what I did there?
The first one was good. Yet it had no connection to the reader. Yes, I'd probably get a few sales from that but what I failed to do was build a connection with whoever was reading my article. I talked too much about the product and not enough about my own experience.
The second one kicked experience ass. It built a connection with the reader before I went forward onto the promo. People are emotional beings. We connect through feelings and emotions.
Not too sure who coined it but I see it shared on facebook so many times:
"People might not always remember your name, but they'll always remember how you made them feel."
~unknown
You might feel that this is beyond your skillset. Don't worry. Next tutorial will be teaching you how to do this! :)
I agree with your statement that you need to know the subject and have a passion for what you are going to work on in your niche.
But, in my opinion, I also think that if you have the passion for learning things, you can learn new things as well and work with that!
If you suddenly discovered the passion for building websites, then start learning about it. if you have discovered the passion for go fishing, go for it and start learning and learn as much you can about it.
The only problem with that is that it takes time to master it. Thus, starting with something what you already know and you are passionate about, is a better way to start. As you grow work on your passions.
In my example, I am working on my online marketing passion, although my biggest passion my whole life is tennis and the next big one is astrology.
I love all of them. Thus, setting priorities, entering into learning processes and start practicing your passion (or passions) is for sure the way to go. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes shorter, but, in the end, if you really are passionate about a certain topic (product, service, skill, whatever) you will find the way to do it.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
Wish you a lot of success,
Best regards,
Igor
