Reasons for updating WordPress

1. Increase web security : WordPress is an open source content management system and, that means, in simple words, that anyone can try to find a hole in their security.

Now, if I am a hacker trying to sneak into WordPress web pages, I would only have to analyze the code that is visible to the naked eye and determine what are the weak points of the system. And devise a way to violate the system and enter the web page programming. This, as you can imagine, seriously affects you because your website is prone to such a threat.

Updating the WordPress system prevents your website from being prone to an attack on its security, since the weaknesses of it are improved in the updates.

Remember that, as I mentioned before, WordPress updates are made based on the errors found by the developers and the reports that the users of the system make to their creators.

If you decide not to update your WordPress and it turns out that someone finds a way to violate the system with the old version that you have installed on your website, something that will possibly end up happening, you run a great risk of being one of its victims.

2. Accelerate loading speed

The speed of your website is key to improving SEO web positioning. Google, and other web search engines, seek that web pages load as quickly as possible, as that means a better experience for their users.

Therefore, all the webmasters who care about improving the WordPress page and especially the loading speed of their web page are rewarded by the web search engines having more chances that their web page will appear in the top positions in the results lists.

It is as simple as that, of two web pages that have the same value for the search engine, the web that loads faster will be displayed first.

Now, the loading speed, many times, depends on how the page is designed. Therefore, what is sought when updating WordPress is to make the programming code and web design more and more optimal. Although I must also tell you that choosing the WordPress theme well plays a fundamental role in this regard.

3.To fix WordPress plugins and themes.

We have already talked enough about errors in systems such as mobile applications and how their solution makes the user experience better.

In the case of WordPress, the experience that is sought to improve is also that of the system administrator, since it is often true that not everything works perfectly in our WordPress control panel.

Now, some errors in the operation of the WordPress control panel are not generated by a problem with the system, but by the use of a plugin that is not compatible. Therefore, if you have problems with your WordPress, do not rule out that it is caused by a plugin.

4. Increases the compatibility of the entire system

Compatibility is of the utmost importance, especially when it comes to talking about themes and plugins. That is, it makes no sense to encourage you to update WordPress, if at that moment it is not compatible with a plugin or a theme that you are using.

Another thing, which you should be aware of, is that there may be incompatibilities between the theme and plugins. It is always advisable that you install plugins that claim to be compatible with the theme you have installed and the most recent version of WordPress. Many new themes can present plugin compatibility issues.

Updating and maintaining the WordPress page is necessary and there are many compelling reasons to do so. Above all, I advise you not to be afraid to try the new update; continuous improvement is always sought.

What if the WordPress update gives problems? In the unlikely event that a new WordPress update comes with an error that the previous versions did not have, a new update is usually released within a few hours where that error is fixed.

The truth is that everything evolves rapidly on the Internet and we must be open to changes, as continuous improvement is sought.

The issue of security is what should concern us the most and, for this very reason, it is the main reason why anyone should worry about updating WordPress on their website as soon as a new update appears.
