Step 1. Create a Google AdSense account. If you have a Gmail account, then you can use your existing account.

After you submit your application, you will receive an email from Google within 24 hours, if not sooner, confirming that you have passed the review process.

Now that you have passed the review process, log in to your AdSense account to get ad code.

Click on the My ads tab and then click on the New ad unit button.

These will bring you to create new ad page, here you will select the ad size, type, and style.

Now it is time to name your ad, recommend you use your website name, it is easier to remember. For example YouFit.com, name it You Fit.

Step 2. Pick your ad size - Google will offer a wide variety of ad sizes, they will also recommend certain sizes because they are popular will advertisers. In other words, these ads are likely to have a higher inventory thus having a better payout.

Step 3. Set your ad type - I recommend you choose both text and display ads. For backup ads, recommend you leave it blank. This is shown when Google is unable to find an appropriate advertisement, true me, this rarely happens.

Step 4. Create a Custom Channel - This feature helps you track the performance of ads based on sites. This is optional, recommend you skip it for now.

Step 5. Create your Ad Style - This allows you to control the display of your text based ad units. I recommend using your website's color scheme for best results.

After setup is complete, click on Save and get code button

Step 6. Get the code for the ad - Copy code to notepad or word document, you will need it later.

Last Step - Add Google AdSense in Wordpress - Now determine where you want to display your ad on your website. Commonly ads are displayed in the sidebar. This is accomplish by using Wordpress widgets.

Go to Appearance, Widgets in your WordPress admin area. Next, drag & drop the Text widget to the appropriate area and paste your Google AdSense code in there.

Congratulations you are done!

Hope this was helpful and please share training with others.

The best thing you can do is to instal the "header and footer" plugin and put the code for adsense in there
Reply
Elisa33 Premium
Which one do you recommend please ?

If you type in footer and header it will be the first one that comes up

I have tried twice to put the html code in just to get approved. They told me about a week later that they can not locate the code to approve the application, so I redid it. Now they told me they can not view the site at all. I have no clue what to do to Add Google AdSense to my site to be able to do all of this stuff in the training you have provided. Can someone please help?

At the right top of tool bar, you will see Visual and Text.
We have to press Text before you paste ad code.
After paste, select Visual.
Then your ad would show on.

Oh holy crimoly!!! Are you kidding me?! hahaha I thought I had to go into the editor.
But where exactly? What page? It just says in between <head> and </head> tags but does not state where at, so from editor I just went to header.

Depend on you. Where you would like to place on. They are same method.
Let me see with you, is there easier method?.

I am just following the instruction on where to put it so my application is approved. I tried adding it exactly where it said to, and it has not accepted my application yet. I have found another training...a few others actually (I guess several others are having this issue). Fingers crossed it will get approved.

Thank you for this training. It's really helpful. I wasn't sure how to do it coz there's another training where it says I needed a plugin but I couldn't find that plug in. The sidebar works anyway. Thanks again!

When I add the Adsense code to the Text widget it shows there is a HTTP 400 error (broken link). Any ideas how to solve it ?

Are you copying the whole link? Double check you aren't missing any part of the code!

Mine doesn't show anything yet. I just created one.

Hello Antonio
I followed your instructions and now I have an empty light orange box in the place where I want the ad to be.What might I have done wrong?
Reply
scottn1323 Premium
It may take three days or more for google to place the ads. If you see a blank box that means google has "reserved that spot for the ads they will place.
Reply
lnjagi Premium
Ok Thank you Scott.
I also realize the ad is too big and I want to resize it,but am not managing to do it.How do I go about that?
Reply

It will take Google a few days but your AdSense ads will appear.

Reply
WAFan Premium
Did you add it as a widget? Or paste the code into one page?
Reply

I have tried both....When I paste the code on a page, the yellow box appears there, but as I save it, and go back to my page, it doesn't appear. As a widget, it appears in only one of my posts....

I have seen this tutorial, and have followed the instructions, but still nothing. I deleted it from widgets, and seems like I have to add the code by hand to each page where I want the ad to appear...Thanks for all the help!
Reply

Recommend you add a AdSense plug-in. After you activate, select setting and edit. There you will be able select where you want the ads to appear.
Reply
antonioA Premium
provide me feedback after you add your AdSense Plug-in.

Is there an AdSense plug in you'd recommend?
Reply

Here are a list of a few free ones: Quick AdSense, AdSense Now, Easy Adsense, Adsense Explosion, AdSense Manager, and take a look at Insert AdSense. Please read what each offer, think like a user when viewing your page.

No....the plug ins were adding the ads either on top or bottom of some of my posts...I want it on the side bar, so it appears always. I was told that it could be my theme that doesn't allow for that to happen "sigh" I'll keep trying.
Reply
antonioA Premium
Follow up: What plugin did you pick? Quick AdSense is my top pick for you. It really easy to use.
Reply
adv66 Premium
Hi! thank you so much for all the help and advise....it was actually easy, but since the tutorial I followed said not to give a title to the text widget, I didn't, and that was the reason it wasn't working! Now the ad is just where I wanted it to be :)

Once again, thank you!
