What You're Looking For
- First sentence should have your keyword phrase in it
- After your first sentence put the link to a matching blog post or link to your website (I will show you why later on this page)
- A description of exactly what the video is. Basically you make a mini blog post about the video.
- Ask People to like, comment, and subscribe
- Link to your website
Above is an example of the description for my What Are Google Alerts video.
- In the very first sentence I put my keyword phrase
- Right after first sentence I put the link to the post I wrote about Google Alerts
- I wrote out exactly what Google Alerts are and then put in the step by step process of what I teach in the video. Luckily I had already wrote the blog post for this video so I just took the copied the information off my blog post!
- I then ask people to subscribe
- Add one more link to my website homepage.
The big reason you need to have your link right after the first sentence of your description is because the whole description is not shown under your video. If you put your link at the end of your description chances are viewers will never see it because they won't click show more. Having the link right there will increase the number of people who click on it.

So enjoying these. I'm not to that point yet but someday hope to be here soon.
Great Job BrokWebb! I think you hit this right on the head! For many years I dabbled with YouTube SEO and marketing and also learned how to get to first page of YouTube for almost any video in the journey of doing so. There are a couple of other acceptable techniques and tricks but you are correct!. Please continue making these tutorials!
