The title jumped out at me since I'm trying to build rapport with my territory in door to door sales. The previous DSR had some ways of doing things that weren't ethical so many of those who lived there when he was around have a sour taste in their mouths. I have been connecting with those who just moved into the neighborhood and want to have a different image. It still hurts when a door is slammed in my face but I don't take it personally. As long as I'm honest with people that I meet I gain in the long run.

Hi Israel,

I have a slightly different take on what I believe you're stating here.

I'm not going to be able to "make" anyone trust me, especially from a website, no matter how well thought out and presented it is.

What I hope to do is "convince" my visitors that I have something worth sharing with them and that satisfying their need is my top priority.

Thanks for sharing your own thought about this training, Martin! Kudos! If you must truly convince your visitors that you have something worth sharing with them and they would accept to be convinced, then you must have established an element of trust in yourself for making them see what you're trying to share, otherwise, they won't get convinced that you truly have anything worth sharing at all. Trust comes first before the audience gets convinced at all. It's not in what you're sharing that they put their trust, but rather in you (The sharer). So, without trust, there's no conviction at all.

And if satisfying their needs is your top priority, how do you expect to make that possible without first making them see that you can truly help them at their pain point. Obviously, your audience will never see you as someone who can truly satisfy their needs unless they have had a high degree of trust in you and your brand. So, there's no way we can look at it without first building trust first.

Also, consider the fact that you have to make Google love and trust you first before traffic can be delivered to your blog. Hope this helps, Martin!
