OK. You have built your own outstanding in-house affiliate program, you have found the perfect management solution and finally, your program is … live! The next step is to get the word out about it!

Needless to say, there are countless possibilities out there, and you should use every single opportunity you may have. However, there are five high avenues that can help you to marketing an online affiliate program. And I’m talking about avenues that have been proven to work … Let’s check them out together:

1. Affiliate program directories

These are online resources that thematically list various affiliate programs, providing all the important details such as program description, payout policy, average commission rate, cookie life, etc. They are very popular among affiliates, therefore it’s extremely important to submit your program information to the biggest affiliate program directories regardless of the potential costs that may be involved. In my opinion this should be the very first mandatory step when you are trying to announce your new affiliate program.

2. Affiliate networks

I’ts a well-known fact, affiliates do listen to what comes from a reliable, established network. This is why many networks offer valuable exposure opportunities for newly launched affiliate programs via newsletters, blog posts, social media channels, etc. This should be your second mandatory step: contact the network representative(s) to find out what options do they offer …

3. Your own databases

If you have decided to launch your own affiliate program, you may already have an established online presence, some sort of authority in a given niche or who knows, maybe even a well-known, appreciated online business with an existing base of satisfied customers. If so, you’ll have to reach out your existing fans and customers (dedicated newsletters, social channels, etc), letting them now about your brand new affiliate program!

4. Online affiliate communities

The incredible popularity of affiliate marketing has created a huge and very active online community including fan clubs, forums, discussion boards, social media groups, etc. Many of them may be open to announcements of new affiliate programs …

5. Affiliate marketing events

There are dozens of exciting and energetic affiliate marketing events, summits, conferences, workshops, etc all over the world every single year. I admit, this may not be a very attractive avenue for individuals or very small businesses, but if you are really serious about running a successful affiliate program you should definitely find a way to attend such events, because these are the best opportunities to meet the real “smart-panties” and the really big dogs …

Under "Tools", wouldn't an experienced IM ( Internet Marketer ) have these things? Most of what you say we should provide would apply to the person to give those affiliates all the necessary sales needs. Sales page, thank you page, etc... No?

I am registered with many internet marketers ( as a buyer, not a product seller ), and last week I received an email from one of those marketers. He and his partner were promoting an eBook maker that created an eBook in five minutes.

It not only created an eBook cover, but also templates and content. The sales price was $47. It has since increased.

Soon after this sale came out all the other internet marketers with whom I am listed hit me with same eBook. I have a relationship with an email marketer who I met in 2009. He has a partner, and they provide great training webinars, several of which I have purchased.

I have a few domain names associated with the gambling business. Not online gambling, nor an inducement to gamble.
However, I have thought about doing a membership with maybe a ten week course, or an eBook. I think linking each course to You Tube might make it easier for anyone to understand. Especially if it is a membership.

I'm thinking about a possible newsletter that is casino related, but filled with stories of my experiences in the casino business. For example, on my way to work one day, I decided to meet Ann Margaret who was playing in our showroom. Then came the news: Ann Margaret fell from a platform that was lifting her up to - I don't know what. She fell and shattered her face.

I think such a newsletter would be of interest to anyone who would like a back scene look at what goes on in a casino from one person's perspective.

Your thoughts.

Can we use WA for affiliates to promote? What about cross over promotions ( affiliates receive a commission; I receive names from them )?

I found what I was looking for. This is perfect for me. You started in July this year, but you know way too much to be a beginner in internet marketing. Am I right?
