As we all know, widgets are the easiest way to add custom items and features to your Wordpress website.

Most of them are are highly customizable, and they will allow you to easily insert various useful functions into your Wordpress sidebar or any other widget-ready area (post, page, footer, etc).

However, there is a small issue ...

While a professional (paid) third-party theme usually will allow you to create your own custom widget areas, most of the free Wordpress themes are coming with a very limited support when it comes to widget-ready areas ... In most cases we are talking about a sidebar and a footer area. Nothing else ...

Hence the logical question: wouldn't be nice if you could create your own custom widget areas by inserting your available widgets into your post and page content?

Well, you can! And believe me, it's easier than you think ...

So, I've decided to create this short tutorial where I will show you how to insert a Wordpress widget into your post or page content. Without writing a single line of code ...

Let's do this!

This is great man. Now I just need to find a way to use this for positioning certain widgets exactly where I want them vs, their default location (I have a star rating widget that only lets me place it at the top or bottom of my posts).

I don't get it Scott ... You can paste the shortcode wherever you want ...

The widget I use already puts content either at the top or bottom of my content. It's on a per post basis so if I disable it I can't tweak it's post specific settings. It's a rating plugin but I've found another that uses short code so I do t need to worry about it now.
