One of the best ways to help others is to comment on their blog posts, and in particular to leave answers to their questions.
There are countless blogs on which you can comment by leaving your support, knowledge, congratulations or general contributions. The more successful the post, the more likely it is to reach the Top 10 or Popular status.
Unfortunately there are quite a number of blogs and questions that are left unanswered. By going to the "Unanswered" Tab, you will see a list of the posts that still need answers or assistance. This is where I spend most of my time.
There's usually a reason that these posts are neglected. Perhaps the title or wording could be better, or people may just not understand the question because it is too short.
Instead of leaving these comments unattended, I will usually "Like" it. If the comment/question is vague or too short, I usually leave a comment such as the following:
"Thanks for asking this question! Could you give us a bit more info on what you mean though?"
OR
"Good question! I've often wondered this myself... anyone else have any ideas?"
Notice how, in both examples I've left a question mark at the end of each sentence. A pop-up box will automatically appear, asking whether or not you need community help for this question. Most often, I click the "Yes" button. This draws in others to also contribute to the discussion. Win-Win!
So you see, you don't necessarily have to be an "expert" or need years of experience to be able to help others. Hope this helps, check out my next page on how to use "Live Chat" most effectively!
