Overview of AdSense for Video
You must follow AdSense policies. These are reasonably standard rules, so you probably already know the majority of them. Don’t present invalid clicks.
You need to ensure that your video conforms to Google’s specific policies. Google cannot process your video the same way because you are a video publisher, but not YouTube. You must meet these requirements.
- Video ads cannot feature where there is no video content.
- In-stream ads must use the Google SDKs or an official Google Beta program.
- Your video content metadata must be of high quality and precise.
- Out-stream ads must also use official Google SDKs.
- Videos should be audible automatically or appropriately muted.
- In referred data, you must accurately state the video size. Videos should also have a standard aspect ratio.
- It is impossible to run more ads per minute than there is video content.
- Advertisements cannot auto-play below or on hover.
- It is not possible to obscure, hide, or disrupt the rendering of the ad content or the use of ad control buttons.
These units are very standard. You will find more details on Google’s official website about these essential rules than I have listed in this tutorial.
YouTube cannot host your video content. You don’t have to use AdSense for the video to make YouTube videos monetizable. YouTube has many rules that it can use to create content, so make sure you keep these in mind.
Video content must be safe for children. Legal reasons also prevent you from targeting users younger than 13 years old. AdSense for video does not allow for any adult content.
