Step 2: Take Good Care of Lead Measurements

Lead measurements are those daily actions that on their own seem like they are not contributing anything to the main course but without which the ultimate goal would be missed.

For instance, in our marathoner example, if an athlete has never run a full marathon, they'd do well to start by running for a shorter distance over a less period of time- but of course more than the few minutes they currently run.

An aspiring athlete might soon give up if they are unable to run for 30 or 45 minutes straight even after 3 weeks of trying. This is because 45 minutes are much less time than a full marathon that takes over 2 hours running nonstop.

What such an athlete might not realize is that the body starts to adjust to the new energy and resilience demands and starts building muscles for that, the heart and lungs, too, start getting used to this new level of work- and with time, the whole system adjusts.

Resilience

The same could be applied for your online business. Concentrate on creating quality content every day or week. Post consistently. Do not be discouraged even if you do not see your posts ranking.

Just make sure you take good care of your lead measurements. Are you following the right keywords strategies learnt here at Wealthy Affiliate? Are you using the low hanging fruit keyword strategy for example? Are you adding great aesthetic value by using quality and relevant images every day or week as you post?

Each day, measure the number of words you are writing, and posts that you are publishing.

For instance in my Personal Record Breaking Goal, I'd do the following:

- Ensure that I'm creating and publishing at least 1 quality post per day that is highly relevant to my target audience

- Ensure that each post is getting indexed (by checking once every 2 or 3 weeks)

These metrics increase your personal engagement and your effectiveness starts to show in getting results with time. Consistently doing this for 3 months will definitely produce desirable results.

I'll at least have achieved my initial 3 month goal- which was to move from a $0 position to making 1 sale. When this happens, exciting causes one to put more committed action to the project.

I'd ensure to avoid or not to:

- Concentrate on rankings,

- Keep checking analytics

In step 3, let's find out how we can boost our commitment through personal accountability.
