Step Three

Screenshot Image Editing

The next step is to edit the screenshot image: framing the image and improving the look of the image. This can be done using the editing features provided by Photoscape. Click on 'Home' and then scroll through the different types of frames. I usually choose the 'Black Line 1' frame as illustrated in the image below. I also use auto and auto contrast to improve the colour of the image.

How the image should look within Photoscape once completed...

The screenshot image will now have been cropped, framed and colour edited. You can use the 'Bright,Color' feature for a more precise colour change and there is a 'filter' feature which can make some lovely instant colour changes to your image.

If you need to make the image file size smaller, then just resize your image to a smaller size using the Resize feature. I usually resize to 800 (Pixel) width and 390 (Pixel) length, but this can differ depending on how you have cropped your screenshot. Make sure that the Preserve aspect ratio box is ticked.

I tried downloading it but I don't think it works on MAC. Thank you for the information.

You're welcome Eva! That's a shame it doesn't work for MAC. I know there is a free photo editing software called 'Photoscape X' which is for MAC but it looks totally different to the one you just tried downloading. Here's the link: http://features.en.softonic.com/photoscape-for-mac Maybe give it a go...see what you think. I don't know what's it like as I don't have a MAC but what I've read it's meant to be a free alternative to Photoshop, whether it is or not, I do not know. The link I've given you has a written review about it, which maybe helpful for you to decide whether to download it or not.

Photoscape is great, I have recommended it to others- and the image resize option is pretty cool too- so that we don't have to upload files that are too large...

Thanks Bill! :) I have both Coral Paintshop (paid photo editing software) and Photoscape (free photo editing software) and I always end up going back to Photocsape for editing and cropping. It's so easy to use compared to other photo editing software. Love it!

I would like to have PhotoShop but can't afford it. I do have Coral PaintShop Pro X 6 which is like PhotoShop but much cheaper! It's weird because even though I have PaintShop I still use Photoscape to crop, re-size and add watermarks. :)
