Detailed Steps to Creating a One-Page Website

Now that you know the importance of having a one-page website, the next thing is for you to know the steps required for creating one.

1. Consider What Your Site Should Be Focused on

Choosing to create a one-page website will require you to leave out lots of information. Knowing this, you will have to be deliberate about the kind of information and design that will be on it.

You will also need to focus on one or two things when choosing this content, and design. Everything you will include on this page should tell your audience what they are to do. It should contain relevant calls to action that will make building a one-page website worth it.

2. Pick an Eye-Catching and Quality Theme

When creating a one-page website, you are allowed to add any theme of your choice. But to make your work easier, you need to select a theme that will make it easier to add all the necessary content you want to your site.

The theme should be really attractive but simple enough to include all the necessary information. When choosing one, here are some important things you should look out for.

  • The theme should make it easier to add and personalize CTA buttons
  • It should enable your visitors to easily navigate the page

There are lots of one-page themes you will find on WordPress. A popularly used one is the Multipurpose Themes. These themes are compatible with many page builders, and they make setting up your website a lot easier.

3. Designing Your Site

Once you have selected your choice of theme, you should also conclude on what your site is going to focus on. When you have done this, you can start the designing process.

The site should be designed to fit your style and also meet the needs of your audience.

It should not be filled with irrelevant designs that don’t really send a message to your readers.

Some other things you should consider are as follows:

  • Make your call-to-action visible and persuasive
  • Make the page easy to navigate from one section to another
  • Include only things that will serve a unique purpose. Also, ensure to keep the page very simple

With these tips in mind, you will create a good one-page website that will really serve your business. Now let’s turn our attention to the tools you will need.

Haha, I didn't mean to scare you with the screen image, Roger. It is just meant to demonstrate data on a single page, nothing more!! Thanks for your input! Deeply grateful!

I am definitely going to practice building one using a free site to start. I'm still getting use to Gutenberg after finally taking the leap from classic editor. Hated Gutenberg at first, but it's growing on me now and my navigation has much improved. I'm surprised at the amount of plugins available to use with Gutenberg. This could be a great technique to promote just one really specific high ticket affiliate promotion.
Thanks!

What a more advanced editor plugin in WordPress! You weren't alone! So many people told me they initially hated Gutenberg but have now started getting used to it. Thanks again!

Great. So do you link internally to different places on the same page?

Hi you can yes.

Perhaps it is a pillar post and creating a table of contents. So you are anchor linking if it clicked upon to where to reach focused content.

Some may do an overall front page and it lists different articles within their site (not necessarily same page), however I'd always keep it relevant and don't over it.
