Change admin with "Username Changer" plugin
1. Install and activate the plugin
2. Go to users, edit
3.Click where it says "Change username"
It allows you now to change the name from here without problems.
Saving changes will take you out of the section and you will have to access again with the new data.
4. Disable and remove the plugin. It is not necessary that you have it installed all the time.

Yes, using Admin as the default username can get a website easily hacked no matter how password-protected. You have saved thousands of people from getting their websites hacked. The disadvantage of using admin as a username is that most hackers automatically try hacking password protected websites using "admin" (without the quotation marks, of course) due to the fact that far too many website owners use that username.
By doing this, hackers are halfway into websites using admin as a username. All they have to do is crack the password, and a LOT of hackers DO crack passwords easily.
Another reason to make sure you have either got excellent protection on the web server like WA provides... or make sure you create STRONG passwords.
