Go ahead and open the page or post you want to change or correct the title on and put it in edit mode.
The procedure will be the same for both pages and posts.
You should have a screen similar to the one below:
As you can see I am changing this title because I misspelled the word Detailing.Step one is to change the word, and most people would then go click update and that would be fixed right?
Wrong!
If you do not change the permalink under the title when you publish this post or page it will still say the old title on your browser tab.
Here I changed the spelling and clicked update:
And here is what my browser still says after I click view post/page:Join the Discussion
Write something…

Yep as Nathaniell says, we could use the way to change the 404 error message. Thanks!
But yes I agree with you. I have used broken fragmented keywords trying to get traction that way and it has not worked. Might as well make the key word phrase read right. You then have a chance of getting some traffic. Even if it is not the 6000 monthly you see with the broken fragment key word phrase.
Thanks!

I'll just add that if any links are pointing to the old post, ie social media, links from other websites, or links from your own blogs, they will now return a 404 error to the old post and need to be updated.
