A few days ago I received an interesting question from one of my clients.

He was looking for a simple method of displaying videos - as post thumbnails - instead of his featured images.

Needless to say, there is a solution ... I made some research and I found a handy lightweight plugin that works like a charm ...

In fact, the plugin uses the native Wordpress featured image functionality. All you have to do is to paste the video URL into the plugin's meta box on the post edit screen, and the targeted video will be automatically displayed as a featured post image ... and a fully-featured video player.

More than that, the plugin comes with a shortcode, that will allow you to easily add featured videos in your posts and pages even if your theme comes without featured image functionality.

And I've decided to create this short tutorial where I will show you how easy is to add featured videos in WordPress.

Let's do this!
