Popular Directories
Publishing your work on popular blog directories that are most relevant to your specialty can be another source of generating quality backlinks. There’s a possibility to get lots of quality backlinks to your site when you submit high-quality articles to those directories, but ensure to submit only to industry related directories.
One particular thing to avoid is using spamming directories that are called link schemes by search engines. Also, flee from directories that ask you to link back to their sites in return. Google downgrades your rankings for getting low-quality backlinks and wouldn’t hesitate serving you penalty in the most appropriate time.
Shortcuts & Quick Fixes
There are hundreds of sites online promising to help build your link portfolio with shortcuts and hacks, asking you to pay some money for a load of low-quality backlinks. Search engines are smart enough to identify backlinks naturally built over time and generated from a number of authority sites, forums, and directories.
Most of these quick fix and shortcut techniques will never give a positive effect in search engine rankings and, in most cases, would lead to getting penalized. So, tread cautiously.
Thank you so much for this post. I have a question: can backlinks alone make a site get great ranking on Google or any other search engine?
I noticed a company from which I ordered a site several years back makes extensive use of backlinks. There was very limited relevant content on the site. When I checked the ranking I noticed the site was way at the "bottom of the ladder."
Always informative posts from you. I enjoy reading them. I learn more each time. I notice you have several backlinks to the content here in WA sprinkled throughout each of your posts.
You practice what you teach my friend, and that is always a good sign of quality.
