Once I gained a foundation to work from I wanted to engage followers that had an interest in what my affiliate Niche was.

I have 3 interests now so my tweets are varied, I did not want 3 separate twitter accounts and I think tweeting about the same topic will drive followers away.

I began to be more choosing as to what other members blogs I re-tweeted and of my own posts as I now wanted to build more targeted followers.

To attract a more targeted following I started to use hashtags

This is when I discovered trend maps on thecertification training course on Wealthy Affiliate

trendsmap although is not free once you sign up and your trial finishes. It's quite expensive and I don't use anymore.

it was good to start of with as it pinpointed trends on a global map however I have since gone on to use another good platform that gives you a list of the latest top hashtags in your area

trends24

Other than that I stick to the trending column on twitter that will so you the number of times a hashtag has been used and shows the top trends that maybe of interest to you.

Its titled trends for you and you will find it under your stats box on your profile page when using a desktop PC.

This is great training. I have not been engaging on Twitter like I should because, I been tied down trying to get post out but, hopefully. I'll be able to pick up somewhere soon.

This works on Facebook as well. Engage share, love, comment. Go to fan pages that are in your niche(like Eric Worre, Robert Kiyosaki, Tony Robbins), and leave a comment that pertains to the post and don't like the post love it. When you go to these types of fan-pages, you'll surely get followers chasing you.

The only thing about this is, you have to be consistent daily and throughout the day and if you stop Facebook stops showing your post to a lot of your followers.

You'll stand out. Plus you have to follow some of the people on the fan page. Just show yourself everywhere and Facebook will send traffic to you.

I started with a new account and built up 845 friends and 517 followers like in three weeks. I personally only friend requested like 20 all the others automatically followed me.

It was overwhelming because, a lot of my followers where in my niche so of course they wanted to drop into my inbox and chat....

Thanks for the training.

Hi yes it certainly does work on other social platforms but the key is consistency.

You can also link your accounts so one post goes to all.

That’s a great return on followers though.

Thanks for creating this useful Twitter training, Darren. Some people create separate Twitter accounts for different niches. I, myself, have two; each for different niches.

Hi Glen

Thats great, At the moment I have a niche website and I promote WA so this works for me. as I separate my audience using the hashtags.

I will probably have to think about another account as I develope another Niche especially if it's in a different industry.

Thanks for sharing your strategy Glen.

best wishes

Darren

Great training, I have a twitter account but never really engage on there I just tweet my new posts, Should I have an account for each one of my websites do you think?

I just use the same one to be honest, that way I can blog on different subjects without being repetitive.

I have my affiliate website and niche website on the title and mix it up.

Hi

Did you ever start using your twitter account ?

Hi Darren. This is quite helpful as I haven't figured out yet how to take advantage of Twitter. I started my account as an author (not a marketing blogger) and didn't know how I could use it and didn't understand how to add followers of diverse interests without blowing off the ones I already had. I'll have to organize myself on this!

Hi Dan

I never really knew either, just research and do what's best for you, this worked for me, it wasn't until I got to about 250 followers that it really started to snowball but I think the key is consistancy.
