Step 5 - Check the index status

Make sure to check your Google index status every few weeks in search console under Google Index > Index Status.

It's a good sign if you see steady increase in index status over time. It means Google has no problem crawling your pages and there are no dropped URLs.

Keep in mind that the Google index indicator may not be updated immediately after you index your new webpage. You can look for it by Googling site:yourwebsite.com. If your new content has been indexed, you should be able to find it from within the search results.

Hi Sadie, if you don't see them in the index you can definitely fetch them again in search console.
You can google site:http://yourwebsite.com to see if your old content are indexed.

Great walk-through! This would make a good step to include in one's 'to do' list when posting articles!
