Free Project Planning Tool
I'm a firm believer in planning your projects and in recording how your progress is tracking against that plan. And I also embrace Agile development, where you recognize that as you progress and your understanding of your project's requirements improves, your project planning needs to adjust accordingly.
The best project planning tool I've ever used that met these criteria is the Scrum board.

It's going to read as a bit complex to set up, but you only do that once. From there on, it's absolutely the best way to control your projects. I've got mine set up at the moment to control 9 websites. I didn't want to make it overwhelming, so I'm splitting the training into 3 tutorials.
