It is normal to human beings to bastardize any given privilege like this but be aware of penalties. There are rules which you must adhere to and ensure strict compliance otherwise, your site will be flagged red!

You're expected to ping only newly published posts or newly updated pages. Well, you may not directly add each post URL, submitting your blog URL is an indication that something new has taken place on your site.

Violation of above rule could lead to flagging your site as spam and blocking your ISP.

The question is what if I update a content, can I ping it? Yes, but not too often. A lot of bloggers don't update their blogs every day when there are other topics to write on. If you must ping an updated topic, it shouldn't be often.

I ping weekly because I try to write a new post every week but if there's a situation of updating an old post, I can also ping it as long as there's something new I want the search engines to know about.

I wonder if you know that this pinging is already incorporated in your WP settings. No need to do this manually.

Check under Settings, Writing, you will see the option at the bottom.

Thanks for this piece. But, is it automatic in all themes or is it a plugin? The truth is after pinging it manually, it works like magic! My traffic shoots up like a mooning bitcoin! I don't think doing it manually is bad after all. Do you agree with me?

No, it is not a plugin added by me, and I did not do it manually, it is a part of WP and perhaps the AIO plugin automatic settings (did not investigate) which you have as well I assume.

Cannot agree or disagree. If you have it in settings (easy to check) then it looks like a double job, perhaps even harmful.

I believe you what you are saying about the traffic, so let me know if you have it in Settings. I am puzzled. It is interesting what you are saying and worth investigating further. I might try it dependent on what you answer about your own settings, so check at your side.

How exactly do you check the traffic for that single post when you ping it?

Okay, I'll keep you posted on the setting of my WordPress if it is there or not. My traffic indicator increases after each sent ping.

How do you do that?

I mentioned the pinging tool I use. If you visit the site, fill all the required details and select all the services then click on 'send ping'. Are you okay with my explanation?

I didn't notice that this is a course, not a blog, so I checked only the first lesson.
I'm OK. Thanks :)
