One of the hardest things with website design is finding free images for a website. In this tutorial I will provide links to Free Image Resources. These directories contain 100% Free Images that you can use on your websites and blogs.
WHY SHOULD I USE IMAGES
People are visual by nature and if they come on to a website that is nothing but text, it can become pretty boring really quick. You could have the most engaging content in the world but if everything looks the same it will be hard to keep people on your website.
FYI, That big brown building is Google’s New York City Headquarters.
Now there are ways to keep people from becoming bored with your content without images, like using shorter paragraphs, occasional bold text, and the very important paragraph heading tags. But an image helps to keep your readers engaged.
Another reason it is important to have at least one image (I use no less than 2) on a page, is so that you can effectively share it on social media. But when you place images on your web pages and posts, you want to make sure they are either in the center or on the right side.
You should never put an image to the left of your content. For the normal progression of reading, you should never disrupt the left edge of content. Also since Googlebot indexes your content from left to right, there is a chance that the text to the right of the image may not get fully indexed, since Googlebot cannot index an image.
