4. Break Down Your Activities
You will be overwhelmed if you approach a big goal or task in one go.
You may want to write 3 posts in a week but, approaching them as 3 in 1 week can be self-defeating. However, if you approach them as 3 in 7 days, you start to break the task down into smaller, achievable tasks.
Let's say that each post is 1,500 words. That's 4,500 words in total. You will take one day to rest, so that leaves you with 6 days.
Although there are 24 hours in a day, you will not be writing for 24 hours each day.
Let us say that you want to dedicate 4 hours each day to writing. That is now 24 hours in total that you have to write 4,500 words.
That averages 188 words per hour, 750 per 4 hour day.
So, if you set a goal to write 750 words each day, during your available 4 hours, you will ultimately reach your overall objective of 3, 1,500 words posts.
Working like this also gives you a better opportunity to track your progress and adjust where necessary. You also have the benefit of some wiggle room in case of unforeseen events taking you away from your scheduled activities.
The key behaviour here is being consistent.
It is strange but just before I read your tutorial I stumbled over an article via the Pocket app, named "Indistracted", which goes hand in hand with what you write here and your related blog post about Focus the other day.
I have noticed lately that I have been suffering a bit form distraction myself, from stress due to heavy workloads at work, and trying to get some progress in my digital entrepreneurship.
The distraction takes me into a digital screen doing research and work related to my digital entrepreneurship, overlooking among other things, our dog. She has started to react to my distraction, and has showed it to me lately that she is not happy with my shift of focus.
This weekend, I will re-write my work schedule and DMO details to allow for more quality time with family and our little fur baby.
Your Call-to-Action in your tutorials are spot on.
