2. Publish Quality Content
Relevant, great content is the very first driver of search rankings and there’s no alternative to this. All other content marketing strategies you try to implement are secondary while quality content is the primary driver. Content specifically written to suit readers’ marketing needs drives website traffic, which increases domain and page authority. Fine-tune your writing expertise.
Use a targeted keyword or specific search query for all of your website content. Consider what your readers might possibly want to search for when they want to use the search tool. If readers want to learn affiliate marketing and, therefore, want to search for tutorials or training on this subject matter, consider the search phrases they might want to use while searching like:
- What is affiliate marketing?
- Becoming an affiliate marketer
- Getting approved with Amazon
- Applying to affiliate sites
- Promoting products online
- Who are affiliate marketers?
Avoid using multiple search queries or keyword phrases. Search engines find it difficult to index such phrases unless they contain relevant words. A webpage can achieve ranking easily for keyword phrases like “Becoming an affiliate marketer” and “Who are affiliate marketers?”, but ranking isn’t feasible for keyword phrases like “College students” and “Head of senate department” or “What is affiliate marketing” and “Online video games”.
In order to rank your site for using multiple search queries, you must create a separate page for each of those keyword phrases you want to target.
Once you’re done choosing your keyword phrases for a specific webpage, you may want to consider answering the following questions:
- Should I use all of the keyword phrases or just part in the page title?
- Should I use all of the keyword phrases or just part in the page URL?
- Should I use all of the keyword phrases or just part in my page headlines and subheadings?
You’ll improve your search ranking by answering yes to those questions. Just be free, user-friendly and natural. But make sure you don’t get caught doing keyword stuffing for this can lead to getting slapped by search engines. Don’t use keyword phrases repeatedly. That’s ridiculous and can subject you to severe penalty by search engines. Make your content readable and rock your website in search engines.
Aside from the title, page URL and headings, content is most crucial for search rankings. Use your keyword phrases a couple of times within the content, not doing keyword stuffing, but writing naturally. Use the keyword phrases one or two times in your introductory and concluding paragraphs, and three to five times across the remaining part of the content.
Do not forget to use heading tags (Particularly an H1 tag), italics, bold, and other optional tags for highlighting those keyword phrases, but that shouldn’t be overdone. Don’t compromise your readability levels for SEO. You’re simply writing your best content for readers, not for search engines.
This supports Jay's training: The 2019 SEO Checklist We all need a checklist before we hit publish!
Throwing a bunch of stuff against a wall somewhere online and hoping it will stick really doesn't work anymore. There is more competition out there than ever which means all the steps you mentioned need to be taken. Being successful isn't easy it's a lot of work. Do it right or don't bother is my new motto.
