Step 2 - Finding Best-Selling Products for your Niche

Now that we know the kinds of things our customers are looking for and what our target market is we need to go to Clickbank and find the best-selling products for this niche.

Clickbank uses a metric called Gravity to let us know which products are best-selling. A high gravity means that there were more sales that month than another product.

It also means there is more competition. But don't let competition scare you off because it also means there is a demand in the market for this product or people wouldn't be promoting it.

Also something to note is that just because it has a low gravity does not mean it's a bad product. It might just be a new product that hasn't been discovered yet.

So if you find something that really looks good but it has a low gravity it doesn't mean you shouldn't promote it.

At first I suggest you stay with high gravity until you understand the system better.

The method I use is that I find the category that my product is in. I do this by first searching on the topic in this case "Bass Guitar".

This brings up some products for the Bass Guitar. I like to step back to the broader picture by finding the category.

Here we can see that the product Blues Bass for Guitar Players is in the Arts & Entertainment Category.

I then go to the category "Arts & Entertainment" and I see there is a subcategory called music. That is even closer to my niche so I select that then sort by gravity highest to lowest.

We then get all the items in the Arts & Entertainments -> Music Category sorted by the highest gravity.

Now when we look at the first product in this category we see that the highest gravity is 45.73.

This gives us a basis for what a good gravity is in this particular category. Gravities vary depending on the category so you might think you have a bad gravity based on other really hot selling categories.

We are just looking for the best products to sell to our niche in its category.

The last thing I do is I now refine that search by adding Bass Guitar and then selecting the radio button search in this category only.

Now I get a list of items related to the Bass Guitar.

One I see which comes to the top of the list is Pitch Master Pro - Ear Training Software. Now I know since I'm a musician how important pitch is. This product actually appeals to me and as my method teaches it's has bubbled up to the top of the list for highest gravity in my category and search.

Now the gravity is 0.2 and we know the high gravity for this category is 45.73 so I personally wouldn't pursue this product. It might be one I put on the back burner for later.

Additionally it doesn't look like there are a good number of products for my niche on clickbank. I would probably go look for other affiliate programs that would allow me to offer big ticket items like Bass Guitars, Amps, Stomp Boxes, etc.

Now I know that there are other niches like health and fitness that have killer products here on clickbank.

You might want to just research products here and find a new niche that appeals to you and you can build a site around high selling products.

Now the next thing that's important to look for on Clickbank is are there multiple products.
