What about your readers' responses to your emails? This data will tell you fairly conclusively how often you should be emailing your list and how effective your email marketing programs perform.

Your readers' feedback is the best way for you to evaluate the effectiveness of your messages. Readers will let you know if your messages, offers, or promotions are beneficial. You will still hear the news about them if they aren't. So, do your best and do it well.

Once you feel you have reached a cadence that is beneficial for your readers and your business, you can start to improve the effectiveness of your email communications, also known as optimization.

Start by listing your goals for your email program. Are you trying to get a new business or increase brand awareness? Flash sales to clear excess inventory. Next, define success.

This could be as simple as making more money or as complex as achieving higher click-through rates. Or it could be as ambitious as turning your brand into an internationally recognized entity.

No matter what your campaign goal is, remember that it is your audience you are trying to win. Your audience-centric perspective will show your reader that you care about them and are willing to help.

Show Your Care with These Ways

Send a"hello!" email to new subscribers as soon as possible: Introduce your customers and greet them.

Keep your word: Send product updates to people who sign up for them. They expect to hear from your company. Don't disappoint them.

I know I have had to unsubscribe to some emails because they would actually send 2-4 emails a day. I am more likely to read emails that come once or twice a week. I have also found that some lists I signed up for would say that they don't sell my email, but I would sign up in a way to see if I got emails I didn't sign up for and that happens quite often. Are they actually selling my email or do you know why this happens? Sorry, just reading this post made me think about it. Great post btw!
