Why Split Test?
To find the most effective ad for your offering (in this example we'll use WA as the focus of the ads) you need to split test.
Split testing is when you put up multiple ads all offering the same thing to find which is the most effective at either getting you sales, or in this case new members signing up.
The below 2 ads show an example of split testing and would allow the advertiser to assess which is better at generating sign ups:
Easily Setting Up a Split Test
Once you have a campaign set up in Bing Ads, you need to set up some split testing to make sure your getting the most cost effective clicks possible.
From your homepage you need to click on the ad you want to split test.
The next page will show your Ad group, in this case our Wealthy Affiliate Ad Group. Across the top you should find these tabs:
Click on the Tab that says "Ads" and then on "Create Ad" and then select your Ad Group in the dropdown that appears.
This will bring up a perfect clone of your original ad. Using my example this is what I would see:
This will allow you to simply change your "Ad Title" and "Ad Text." For example I could create a separate ad by changing the "Ad Title" to 'Join Wealthy Affiliate' instead of what's there now.
Once I changed the title I would click on "Save and Create Another" to continue making clones of my original ad, only changing one thing at a time. As a rule you will want at least 3 different ads to test for every campaign.
Once you have multiple ads up you can leave them for at least a couple of days to rotate through your campaign and you can start to see the Clicks and CTR (click through rate) of the various ads you have in the rotation.
