Buy about 10 domain names (or just 1 if you'd like to try it first) using NameCheap or similar.

They will cost you less than $10 each and you'll make that back from day one, so don't worry about the cost.

Build the websites for each of the 10 domain names.

Research your keywords using Google free keyword tool and get results.

So, if I live in Dallas, I'd go for 'plumbers Dallas'.

See what results you get and write and article all about plumbing or 'how to find the right plumber for your leak' or whatever.

Use the keywords that you found in Google, in your article title and about three times throughout.

Use LSI keywords, too.

Write about three articles but only post one. Have the other two go out a couple of weeks apart.

Do similar with appropriate keywords for all your domain names.

Put a 'contact us' notice right on the page above the fold. Inform local businesses that THEY can have their contact details, logo and any message displayed right, slap bang, in the middle of the page by contacting you for an exclusive advertising spot.

Use 'All in One SEO' plugin for Wordpress and optimise it for each article.

Ensure Google sitemap XML plugin is also running. Both plugins can be found by searching from within your Wordpress admin area.

Finally, apart from the article you've written (make sure it's original, not a copy from another website … no duplicate content here) you must have an 'About Us', Privacy Policy and a 'Terms' post.

Ok, all is in place.

You should now be ranking, normally within about 10 - 15 days but it may take 30, on page one or two of Google for the search term 'PlumberDallas.com' or 'HairdresserDallas.com' and so on.
